IMHO the Rangers will be there,in the playoffs and have a chance just like everyone else, barring injuries! The king at his best, they can go all the way!

Ok, enough with last year. I put it in the rear view 4 + months ago. Hank will bounce back & carry this team this year. He should be rejuvenated w the most rest he's had since 2010. Yes the WC here will test him & have him having to go at top speed right away but I heard he kept himself in amazing shape this summer & looks fresh & determined.

I didnt see a Defense that was better than an overall C grade ... being kind
more like a C-....
why would the goalie be much better than the D in front of him?and he was !
K Y experiment simply found a slippery slope to slide down to....
along with 2 vets(Gman -Staal) playing like they were auditioning for SS disability
Capt peg leg Mac..played alot with freezing foot 1/2 a season
Klein over performed until he didnt .....
Boyle .....was one ! on the teams Ass ! never played good D and again a PP specialist
we had PP specialists in Boyle & K Y and all it got us was a trip to the urologist...
Mac rath is a play behind the game sumtimes ,can only hide so much....
Shey is the silver to a dark cloud from last yrs D review along with health ....
thank god I M O the 3 D with injuries have not lost there game as much as there bodies last yr. i sense with the LONG off season to re hab & rebuild not just rehab like they all tried to do last yr. never had chance to re build and suffered all season ...NOw we will see .....
IMO trading 1 of the 3 vet D ( Gman Staal Klien ) is essential to the structure of our D ...need a true Progressive D who is PP Pt man deluxe with the rest of the game.....no more 1 way players like K Y ...
Hank should get at least a B-... Advanced stats back up fact D was terrible. I think Staal stick to eye had a huge impact on his performance and shows why maybe McIlwrath should play more. With Skjei penciled in we should stop talking about getting puck moving D and focus on some of the big boys we have that can clear the crease. Stick to eye would've never happened if Staal wasn't getting overpowered in front. Would be nice to have Holden and McIlwrath in there and maybe teams won't have so much freedom in our end. Still will get offense from Skjei and Macdonaugh. Added team speed this year will also slow down other teams.
Obviously I'm the last person who'd defend Qeenie, but the second half last year was just a poop storm of crazy plays and problems for Lundqvist. Just throw it out and move on. He got hurt a couple times if I recall and was hung out to dry in the playoffs. I'd guess he's got three top years left and at least a couple good ones after that. The problem with the team is elsewhere, not in net.

Can't Fn wait for hockey, been too long! - B2B76
I said I would finish the grading, so that's what I am trying to do. Have one more and done. The purpose of the line combinations projection was to include the future in the review of the past. But I understand the view.

I had it as a B- first, then changed my mind. Almost listed it as B-/C+, so I was totally on the fence.

To start, the D should be better by the subtraction of Boyle and Yandle. Add some new, hopefully, more responsible youngsters to the R&R G and Staal got with the early exit and Beuk as D coach, it shouldn't be as bad as last year.
Hank being rested earlier coupled with the WC "pre-season" should put him in form early. He needs some rest this year, so hopefully Raanta gets more time between the pipes this year.
I see a better year for the Rangers.

I don't think it's necessary at this point Jan but it's not my blog. What do I know.
